    Update

    Saturday, December 5, 2009, 8:38 PM [General]

As I don't seem to get on here but once every few months, need to update information. Times are still very hard since the loss of Mykel, especially with the holidays. It's just not right that she's not here with us. On a happier note, Jonathon Thomas Cox was born November 23 at 12:49 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 19.5 inches long. While he was 3 weeks early, he is very healthy and doing great. While we are thrilled that he is here, again, it's just not right that his big sister never got to meet him. She was so excited about getting a little brother. However, other big sister Samantha, while asking a lot about Myk, has been a great help. She LOVES to kiss and snuggle little brother. In fact, she likes being right there so much that sometimes is tough getting her to back off enough to feed or change him.

Ups and downs have been plenty the last few months, and I don't expect them to get easier any time soon. Wish I had time to take to mourn like I need to, but with a 3 year old and a newborn that just isn't going to happen. Have to take what brief moments I can to have my break-downs. Trying to keep it together and somewhat upbeat for Samantha, but that doesn't always work. I do let her see me cry and let her know it's ok to cry and miss Myk, I just try not to do it all the time.

Okay...this post has taken a down turn that I didn't plan, but I guess I needed it. Things are, for the most part, going well. Kids are healthy and happy and run my nerves ragged. Adam is doing well and has been more than understanding the last few months with the pregnancy and following c-section and recovery. I have the world's greatest husband!

Hope all is well with everyone else in the shire. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    Excited, Stressed and Depressed

    Wednesday, September 23, 2009, 1:13 PM [General]

Excited that it is once again time for the Great Plains Ren Fair. Look forward to this twice a year as there are people that I only ever see at fair.

Stressed because there is still so much to do and products to get made for the booth. Had planned to have it all done by now, but that just seems to be the way things go...working umtil the last second!

Depressed as this will be our first home fair since Mykel died. We have already changed several of our plans at fair (not using our big tent - no energy to set it up, not doing our vow renewal - she and her sister were going to stand up with us). It almost doesn't seem right to go, but I think I would have an even harder time if I tried to NOT go. It will be odd, but will be good for us.

Hello. I just faxed you the vendor application for next year to the number that you sent last year. I hope you are still at that number. :)

    Thanks!

Great! We would love to have you. If you go to our website, www.arkansascityks.gov and click on the Cherokee Strip Museum you will find info on 2010's event. There is even a link to a vendor application.

Look forward to seeing you soon!

I'm sorry to hear about your tent. Hopefully things can be repaired...?

Thank you! I know Sharon will appreciate your efforts on her behalf.

Hmmm. Maybe we should have coffee night at the tower some night (if you haven't seen it in the candlelight, you're missing something pretty spectacular!)
